Ach, es ist einfach furchtbar mit der Hitze – und dann die Schwuele dazu, die kennen wir ja hier nicht. Heute, es ist nine-eleven (!), ist es so dunkel dass man die Lichter den ganzen Tag anmachen muss. Der Himmel ist hier im Los Angeles County braun-gelb und es stinkt. Wahrscheinlich von den "flame retardents" die sie sprühen – oder von all den toten Tieren die dem Feuer nicht entkommen konnten.
Wie die armen Feuerwehrleute das aushalten ist mir ein absolutes Raetsel – und, Regen ist gar nicht in Sicht.

In Woodland Hills (San Fernando Valley), sind 49,44 Grad gemessen worden. Die Straßenkegel waren unten – wo sie Kontakt mit der Strasse hatten - geschmolzen. Link Jetzt ist die Sonne nicht mehr zu sehen und dadurch ist es kühler.
Morgens ist Asche auf dem Auto.

Wir haben bis jetzt noch Glueck gehabt, weil sie unsere Elektrizitaet noch nicht abgestellt haben, als wir die Brownouts* hatten, waehrend der SuperHitze.
Von 9 – 5 wird das Wasser abgestellt, wegen “Reparaturen”. Na ja, trinken wir Wein, haha.

Mit den Feuern, Covid und "unserem" Praesidenten kann man fast meinen, das Ende der Welt ist bald da.

* Der Begriff "Brownout" kommt von der Dimmung der Glühlampenbeleuchtung bei Spannungsabfall. Eine Spannungsabsenkung kann eine Folge einer Unterbrechung des Stromnetzes sein oder gelegentlich auferlegt werden, um die Last zu reduzieren und einen Stromausfall zu verhindern, der als Blackout bezeichnet wird.
