Since the first QHR conference in 1994, the world in which we live, work and research has undergone unprecedented change. On the 20th anniversary of the QHR conference, progress seems ever quicker and change deeper and more widespread. The need for relevant, rigorous and innovative qualitative methods has never been greater - but the challenges in leading this research have also never been more numerous. What can qualitative researchers learn from the past to shape the methodologies, disciplines, philosophies, and theories needed for the future?

How can we adapt our methods to the global challenges, healthcare innovations, and technologies, we now face?
